Guru Nanak says “so mai visar na jaa-ee” ; May I never forget Him!

May the remembrance of my Master, Creator remain with me at every moment.

By understanding this secret, we will gradually see beyond the beads of the rosary and be able to grasp the thread that goes through them all.

That thread is God and we are the beads. The stream of life that flows through you, is God; He is the thread on which turns the bead of our body, and this thread is the same in all of us.

It is the same that runs within the trees, the birds, the animals, the mountains, the plains.

It is He living in the various forms, swelling in every wave, so catch hold of the constant

remembrance of this thread and never forget it – and the secrets of the Universe will be at hand. All riddles will then be solved by themselves.

The One resides in all ; the One is hidden in the many.

It is He that trembles in every leaf; it is He who wafts in every gust of the wind; it is He in the clouds, the moon, the stars, in every grain of sand. It is He! It is He! It is He!

“May I never forget Him!”

“May His remembrance within me become crystallized and solid.”

So what should we do?

How do we guard this remembrance all day long?

Firstly we will need loads of courage, for there are many difficulties to be faced. Pain and difficulties will be there because any attainment without trouble is almost useless.

We will only appreciate and care for that which we acquire with difficulty.

Besides, if we are out to attain the Ultimate Truth then we will have to make some sacrifice!

In this quest for the Truth, we have to lose on one side and gain on the other, and so it will be difficult. By the way what is easy in life?

Imagine this :

If we begin to see God in the customer, how will we fleece him…

If a pickpocket sees God in the victim, his hand will be paralyzed. How can he do evil?

If we see Him in everything, the structure of our life will begin to crumble from all sides. The foundation of our life that we have built stands against all that He signifies, because we built it when we had forgotten Him.

If now we begin to constantly remember Him with every breath, then we will realize that the foundation is weak.

One thing however is certain; though we cannot see it today, gradually our constant remembrance of Him will strengthen our foundation and in so doing we will see the change in our life.

On this path, we require loads of courage to leave whatever is at hand in order to realize something greater. We need this change from the very roots of our life.
